Privacy Policy, Terms of Service & Account Deletion

This Privacy Policy describes how Maxxer ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the Maxxer mobile application ("App"). By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Third-Party AI Service — Face++

What we send: When you perform a facial scan, Maxxer transmits your photo to Face++ (Megvii Technology / faceplusplus.com), a third-party AI service based in China and the United States.

Face++ receives your photo and returns:

  • 106-point facial landmark coordinates
  • Estimated age, gender, and beauty score
  • Skin health metrics (acne, dark circles, wrinkles, stains)
  • Head pose data (yaw, pitch, roll)

Retention: Face++ does not store your image beyond the duration of the API request unless you separately opt in to their platform. Maxxer does not store the raw photo on our servers; only the derived metrics are saved to your account.

Your consent: The App asks for your explicit consent before your first facial scan. You may decline at any time by not submitting photos for analysis. If you have previously consented and wish to withdraw, delete your account (see the Delete Account tab).

How We Share Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:

In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Maxxer offers the following auto-renewable subscription plans and one-time purchase:

  • Monthly Premium — auto-renews monthly at the displayed price
  • Annual Premium — auto-renews yearly at the displayed price
  • Lifetime Access — one-time purchase, no recurring charge

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID or Google account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's App Store / Play Store account settings. No refunds are provided for the unused portion of a subscription period.

Maxxer does not collect or store payment card details. All billing is handled by Apple or Google.

Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit and Firebase Security Rules to restrict access to your data. Biometric-derived metrics are stored under your authenticated user ID and are not accessible to other users.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@maxxer.app.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data (see Delete Account tab)
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured format
  • Withdraw consent to AI analysis at any time

International Data Transfers

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers primarily in the United States. When you submit a photo for facial analysis, that photo is transferred to Face++ servers which may be located in the United States or China. By using the App and consenting to facial analysis, you acknowledge and agree to this international transfer.

Legal Compliance

This policy is designed to comply with:

  • Apple App Store Guidelines — including 5.1.1(i) data collection disclosure and 5.1.2(i) data sharing disclosure
  • Google Play Policies — including the Data Safety section requirements
  • GDPR (EU/EEA) — lawful basis: consent (facial data), contract (account data)
  • CCPA (California) — we do not sell personal information
  • COPPA — the App is not directed at children under 13

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes, we will provide in-app notice.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Maxxer mobile application ("App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the App.

User-Generated Content & Community Standards

Maxxer includes social features that allow users to share messages and interact with other community members. We are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful environment for all users.

Prohibited Content

Users are strictly prohibited from posting, uploading, or transmitting any content that is:

  • Harassing, bullying, threatening, or abusive toward any individual or group
  • Containing hate speech, discrimination, or slurs based on protected characteristics (race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, etc.)
  • Sexually explicit, obscene, or pornographic
  • Containing profanity or offensive language
  • Defamatory, libelous, or making false accusations
  • Spam, promotional, or commercial in nature without permission
  • Violating intellectual property rights
  • Encouraging illegal activity or self-harm

Our Zero-Tolerance Policy

Maxxer has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable, abusive, or harmful content. Users who violate these community standards will face account warnings, suspension, or permanent removal at our sole discretion.

Content Moderation & Safeguards

Automated Filtering

Maxxer uses advanced automated content filtering to prevent users from posting prohibited content, including:

  • Profanity & Offensive Language Filter: Blocks messages containing profanity, slurs, and offensive terms before they are posted to the platform
  • Pattern Detection: Identifies and blocks abusive language patterns and aggressive messaging
  • Real-time Validation: Messages are scanned before delivery to other users

User Reporting & Flagging

If you encounter content that violates these Terms, you can report it directly within the App:

  • Long-press or swipe on any message to reveal the "Report" option
  • Select a reason for your report (abusive language, harassment, spam, etc.)
  • Our moderation team will review the report and take appropriate action
  • All reports are treated confidentially

User Blocking

Users can block other users to prevent them from sending messages or interacting:

  • Tap a user's profile name or avatar
  • Select "Block User" from the menu
  • Blocked users cannot send you messages, see your profile, or interact with your content
  • You can unblock users anytime in your Account Settings

Our Enforcement & Response Commitment

🔔 24-Hour Response Guarantee: When a user reports content that violates these Terms, our moderation team will review the report and take action within 24 hours.

Actions may include:

  • Content Removal: Immediate deletion of objectionable messages or posts
  • User Warning: First-time offenders receive a warning and education about community standards
  • Temporary Suspension: Repeat offenders may be suspended from posting for 24-72 hours
  • Permanent Removal: Severe violations or repeated offenses result in permanent account termination

Your Responsibilities

By using Maxxer, you agree to:

  • Use the App only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms
  • Not use the App to harass, threaten, defame, or abuse others
  • Not post spam, promotional content, or malicious links
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of others
  • Report any violations or concerns to our support team immediately
  • Understand that your messages may be reviewed as part of moderation or safety investigations

Account Termination

Maxxer reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, without notice or refund, including:

  • Posting abusive, threatening, or harassing content
  • Multiple violations of community standards
  • Impersonation or fraudulent behavior
  • Any illegal activity or content

Suspended users may appeal by emailing support@maxxer.app with details about their suspension. Appeals will be reviewed within 14 days.

Limitation of Liability

Maxxer is provided "as-is." We are not liable for any damages, losses, or injuries resulting from your use of the App or interactions with other users. You assume all risk associated with using the platform and interacting with other community members.

How to Delete Your Maxxer Account

Follow these simple steps to permanently delete your Maxxer account and all associated data:

  1. Open the Maxxer app on your mobile device
  2. Navigate to the Profile tab
  3. Tap the Settings icon (gear icon)
  4. Scroll down to the "ACCOUNT" section
  5. Tap on "Delete Account"
  6. Review the warning message about permanent deletion
  7. Tap "Delete Permanently" to confirm
  8. Your account will be deleted immediately

What Data Gets Deleted

When you delete your Maxxer account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Facial scan images and biometric data (facial landmark data)
  • Facial analysis results and looksmax ratings
  • Complete workout history and exercise records
  • Nutrition logs and meal tracking data
  • Breathing exercise session records
  • Mindfulness guide interaction history
  • User profile information and username
  • All cached images and local data on your device
  • Your Firebase authentication account
  • AI consent preference

Data Retention & Backup

Deletion Timeline: Account deletion is immediate. Your data is removed from our active servers right away and your account becomes inaccessible.

Backups: We maintain daily backups for security purposes. Residual data in backups is purged within 30 days of deletion.

Face++ Data: Photos sent to Face++ for analysis are not stored by Face++ beyond the duration of the API request. Deleting your Maxxer account removes the derived metrics from our servers; no further action with Face++ is required.

⚠️ Important: Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. You will not be able to recover any data, metrics, workout history, or facial scans after deletion. Cancel your subscription in the App Store / Play Store before deleting your account to avoid future charges.

Troubleshooting

What if the Delete Account button is greyed out?

  • Make sure you're logged into your account
  • Check that you have an active internet connection
  • Update the Maxxer app to the latest version

What if deletion fails?

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection
  • Try again in a few moments
  • If the problem persists, contact support (see below)
